Vision, objectives, mission statement and core values
Our vision is that childhood liver disease will be understood and fought effectively thereby ensuring that young people with liver disease and families will be able to take control of their lives and achieve their full potential.
The objectives of CLDF are: - To provide emotional support to children and families affected by liver disease
- To promote research into the causes of childhood liver disease
- To develop means of an early diagnosis and cure
- To provide new facilities and trained staff
- To create a greater awareness of childhood liver disease through education of healthcare professionals and the public.
The mission of Children's Liver Disease Foundation is to fight childhood liver disease through funding pioneering medical research, providing effective education and giving professional and caring support to families and young people with liver disease. Continuing its leading role in the field of caring for children with liver disease, the Foundation aims to develop its programme of activities to provide an authoritive and effective voice in support, in every respect, of young people, families and medical professionals.
The core values of CLDF are: - CLDF acts professionally and ethically with all stakeholders; young people with a liver disease, their families, medical professionals involved in treating young people with liver diseases and the public at large.
- CLDF treats all young people with liver disease and their family with dignity, respect and compassion.
- CLDF cares for the whole family
- CLDF provides a high quality, professional and confidential emotional support service.
- CLDF acts in a professional and business like manner and adheres to relevant professional codes of conduct as indicated by the Charity Commission, the Association of Medical Research Charities and Institute of Fundraising.
- CLDF will encourage opportunities for joint activities with other organisations, charitable or otherwise, provided they meet with the overall objectives of the Foundation and do not contravene any other core value or belief.
