Raising awareness

Spread the word …

Families who are willing to share their experiences of living with childhood liver disease are essential.

We want to hear from you if you are a family of a child with liver disease and would like to share your story.

Are you willing to take part in features in the local and national press, magazines, TV and radio in the future? (you can pick which you'd like to do)

Please contact CLDF’s Press Officer on 0121 212 6012 or send an email.

Raising awareness

One of CLDF’s main aims is to increase awareness of childhood liver disease and the work of the Foundation.

  • The more people who are aware of childhood liver disease and CLDF, the easier fundraising will be.
  • With extra funds we could develop our research, information and support programmes.

You have the ability to increase awareness of CLDF in your local community: from simply mentioning CLDF to your family or friends through to organising a fundraising event or sharing your story with your local media.

We can provide you with any support you need.

Bertie's Story

“If just a handful of people read the article and learnt about the signs of childhood liver disease it was worthwhile.” - Alice

Bertie was diagnosed with biliary atresia when he was just weeks’ old, he battled through life saving surgery and has come so far since. When Bertie celebrated his birthday the CLDF communications team worked with his mum Alice to raise awareness.

Alice said: “A photographer came to visit us at home and took some wonderful pictures in the garden. It felt great when we saw the piece in the paper.

"People that we knew saw the article and were quite inspired, when it’s someone they know it brings it home. And Bertie still had time for a great birthday after his photo shoot!”
