Talk, Tell, Transform... 2012

These digital stories were created by young people at CLDF’s Talk, Tell, Transform… projects. Young people created digital stories about an aspect of their liver disease journey that they wanted to share. Abi

Abi was born with biliary atresia, had the Kasai procedure at seven weeks old and a liver transplant at 13. Abi creates an insight into her life through this video and describes her emotional escapism from hospital.

Ben

Ben was diagnosed with autoimmune liver disease and shares what his journey has been like from initial symptoms of a liver disease through to having a transplant and beyond. Ben shares the physical and emotional twists and turns in his life post transplant.

Charley

Charley was born with biliary atresia and had the Kasai procedure at four weeks old. She explores living with a liver disease, focusing on the emotional effects and her journey to find a sense of identity.

Flo

Flo was diagnosed with autoimmune liver disease age 11. Flo shares her journey from 12 months of medical investigations through to the physical side effects of her daily medication. Flo creates an insight into her achievements, aspirations and great friends she has made since her diagnosis.

Joanna

Joanna was born with neonatal haemochromatosis and received a transplant at three weeks old.  Joanna explores how assumptions and medical diagnosis shouldn’t rule or dictate identity and the development of her self-worth.

Khai

Khai was born with biliary atresia and had the Kasai procedure at ten weeks old. Khai’s story creates an insight into his life and explores his experiences since diagnosis, the strength of his family unit and his daily routine of medication.

Matt

This film has been created by Matt who was born with biliary atresia and underwent the Kasai procedure at 13 days old. This film explores being bullied for being different and overcoming the ignorance of others.

Stuart

Stuart has autoimmune sclerosing cholangitis. Stuart shares his achievements since diagnoses and his strength, willpower and dedication to football.
