Kilimanjaro Trek

10 - 19 October 2008


 Located on the North Eastern tip of Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the world's highest peaks and a truly amazing spectacle!

You will trek towards the picturesque snow capped peaks and observe the natural beauty of the Tanzanian landscape. You'll be lead through a blend of diverse terrains from jungle to volcanic craters before reaching the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro, Uhuru Peak.

This is an amazing opportunity to trek in one of the most beautiful parts of Africa over 10 days and climb to heights of 4.600 meters!

Guide to the itinerary:

DAY 1: Fly London to Kilimanjaro airport
DAY 2: Transfer to Moshi town ready to explore Kibo
DAY 3: Begin trekking the Machame route first climb to 3100m
DAY 4: Ascend through forest on the Shira Plateau camp at 3840m
DAY 5: Pass underneath the Lava Tower and Western Breach (acclimatisation time)
DAY 6: Trek the Great Barranco ravine towards Karanga Valley
DAY 7: Ascend towards summit glaciers, sun rise at Stella Point crater rim at 5750m
DAY 8: Gentle trek back down to rain forest and Mweka - receive certificate of ascent!
DAY 9: Time to explore town of Moshi - flight to Addis Ababa
DAY 10: Flight Addis Ababa to Heathrow
