Sahara Trek 2008 dates: 8 -16 March 2008 Imagine the feel of the desert underfoot, taking in mesmerising landscapes beyond your wildest expectations and dramatic sand dunes as far as the eye can see. Trekking the Sahara Desert will provide you with an unbelievable experience which you will never forget. Provisional Itinerary for the trek: DAY 1: Depart London Heathrow for Marrakech, transfer to Ouarzazate DAY 2: Drive to M’hamid and the start of the trek; head off into the dunes DAY 3: Trekking amongst small dunes and tamarisk trees following the Jebel Bani DAY 4: A mixture of stony plateau and soft sand with camp overlooking the dunes DAY 5: A morning of walking across stony flat terrain, lunch under a tree then onto camp DAY 6: Scale the heights of Chagaga, a 100m dune - fabulous views! DAY 7: Cross the Iriki Saltpan, through acacia trees and shimmering heat DAY 8: Sunrise walk ends trek, head back for a final celebration! DAY 9: Transfer to Marrakech and return flight to London (A deposit of £249 + sponsorship target of £2,000 is required)
