About 'Help CLDF' tab | Promote the work of CLDF
Promote the work of CLDF
One of CLDF’s main aims is to help increase awareness of childhood liver disease and the work of the Foundation. We also know that this is of key importance to our families and supporters.
We have a regular programme of promotional and press activity to help us achieve this aim - but your help is also invaluable. The more people who are aware of childhood liver disease and CLDF, the easier fundraising will be and with extra funds we could extend our support, education and research programmes. You have the ability to increase awareness of CLDF in your local community. From simply mentioning CLDF to your family or friends through to organising a large fundraising event, or taking part in a press interview. Whichever way you feel you can help, the CLDF team are here to offer any support you may need. Possible ‘promotional’ activities include: * Organise a fundraising event – fundraising not only raises funds but raises awareness too. *Give a talk about CLDF to a local group such as a Rotary Club or local Round Table (we can provide key messages and promotional materials). *Represent CLDF at a cheque presentation – we need representatives all over the country to accept a cheque on our behalf; the photos of which can often be used to help gain extra coverage in the press. *Propose CLDF as a charity for support at work. *Propose payroll giving be introduced at your place of work. *Empty collecting boxes on CLDF's behalf. *Collect foreign coins from collectors on CLDF's behalf. *Introduce CLDF to family and friends and encourage them to support, fundraise, promote CLDF at their place of work etc. Help CLDF through media activity Families who are willing to share their experiences of living with childhood liver disease are essential in helping CLDF raise awareness. If you are a family of a child with liver disease and would like to share your story, you may consider joining our ‘publicity families’ scheme. We need families who are willing to take part in features in the local and national press, magazines, TV and radio in the future (you can pick which you'd like to do) and we regularly assess our database of families to look for opportunities. The scheme is also vital when a journalist is looking for a case-study in a hurry. Please contact CLDF’s communications officer on 0121 212 6012 for more information or click here to fill in our families publicity questionnaire if you may be willing to help. Often stories are centred around family milestones including: • Anniversaries of transplant • Big birthdays - 1st, 5th, 10th, 16th, 18th • 1 / 5/ 10 year transplant anniversaries • Good GCSE and A-level results • Starting University • Passing a driving test • First day at school or nursery If you are approaching an event or milestone and may consider publicity activity please to get in touch. We really can't do it without you.
Supporters who are willing to champion the cause and be the face of CLDF in their local area are invited to join CLDF’s Ambassador’s scheme. The scheme is extremely flexible and you can pick which activities you’d like to take part in and the time commitment is also up to you. To find out more click here.
