The 50-50 Schools Cartridge Recycling Scheme
50/50 Cartridge Recycling Scheme Educational establishments can sign up for our 50/50 Campaign and receive 50% of all funds raised!
The scheme is straightforward and easy to join. You can raise funds for your school, college or nursery while helping fight childhood liver disease. You will also be disposing of your used cartridges in a more environmentally friendly way! Did you know that as many as 6 million cartridges are put into landfills each year?
The scheme is completely FREE and works in conjunction with recycling company Accutecc UK Ltd. They can provide a free collection box and will arrange to pick up used ink jet cartridges and laser toners free of charge. We receive payments from Accutecc on a monthly basis. We will check whether you have signed up for the 50/50 campaign and if so, will send you a receipt and a cheque for 50% of the money you have raised. It couldn’t be simpler!
Who can take part in the scheme? Any educational establishment can take part in the scheme and benefit from the funds raised. How do I get my child's school involved in the 50/50 campaign?
Only a school can register for the campaign. However, we can provide a leaflet for you to take to the school, which will give all the details. Click here to request a parent's 50/50 introductory leaflet.
How does the school enrol for the 50/50 campaign?
The contact from the educational establishment will need to our fundraising department on 0121 212 6022 or click here to send an e-mail to enrol and receive a pack.
What happens next?
Our 50/50 pack contains everything you need to get started right away. Toners can be bound together or Accutecc can provide a free collection box. A request from is enclosed in the pack. Once you have over £10 worth, Accutecc will arrange for the cartridges to be picked up free of charge. They will be collected within 2-3 working days between 9 and 5.
Which types of cartridges are suitable for recycling?
Some types of cartridge are easier to recycle than others e.g. Hewlett Packard, Canon and Lexmark to name but a few. The value will be dependent on the number of cartridges in circulation and therefore varies from month to month. We can supply an up to date list. Click here to send an e-mail to request a list. Please note that in order to receive a payment, the collection must value at least £10. Any educational establishment can take part in the scheme and benefit from the funds raised. How does the school receive the money?
Accutecc send us the money on a monthly basis and provide a list of collections and their value. Any school signed up for the 50/50 campaign will receive a receipt from CLDF and a cheque for 50% of the income raised.
How can the school increase the amount of money they raise?
Quite simply by collecting more cartridges! Why not send a note home to parents with every pupil explaining the scheme? You could suggest to parents to collect used cartridges from their place of work. Why not ask the school PTA and school governors to take part?
The scheme is so easy and the money raised will help make a real difference to children with liver disease. Thank you!
