London Marathon 2006

Marathon achievement of CLDF runners!

A big thank you to the 25 runners who took on the huge challenge of the London marathon on Sunday 23 April, helping to raise nearly £58,000  for CLDF (pre gift-aid)

The rain which continued to pour for most of the day didn’t put off a huge crowd from turning out to support the 33,000 runners who set out on the tough 26.2 mile course.

As ever the CLDF post-race reception, held at the Thistle Hotel, Charing Cross, was an emotional and uplifting event.  Friends and family were waiting to cheer in the wet and exhausted runners and it was great to hear their stories of what is a gruelling but for most, tremendous experience.
