London marathon 2008

The 2008 London marathon will take place on the 13th April.

The ballot for general entries is now closed and CLDF's limited number of golden bond places have been allocated. 

We would still love to hear from runners with their own place who would like to run for CLDF.  We can can offer lots of fundraising and publicity support, plus a free running vest and invitations to the CLDF post-race reception which takes place at a hotel near to the finish line.

Perfect for family and friends of all our London Marathon runners.  These packs are great to use around the course to cheer your runner on and get CLDF noticed!

The complimentary pack includes:

·   CLDF t-shirt

·   Pair of cheering sticks

·   Cheering signs for your special message of support

Share your 2008 London marathon photos! 

We always love to see photos taken of your London marathon preparation, and on the day - whether before the race, at the start line, during the race itself or your celebrations afterwards.  Other runners and supporters are also keen to view your photos.

For this purpose, CLDF has set up a special CLDFLONDONMARATHON page on the photo sharing website www.photobucket.com.  Here you can view photos posted by others and can easily upload your images.    

All you have to do is visit www.photobucket.com and log in (in the log in box, top right hand corner) using CLDFLONDONMARATHON as your username and password (all upper case, no spaces).

This will take you to the CLDF London Marathon area on Photobucket.

You then need to click on the 2008 folder on the left hand side to take you to the 2008 area where all photos from this year's event should be uploaded (we plan to create a new folder for each forthcoming year's race).

The page (we hope!) will feature images already uploaded by supporters.  You will see an area to browse images located on your computer or from your mobile phone and for you to upload your images to the 2008 page.  (Remember to add information in the description boxes of who is in the photos, who posted the photo - there are tutorials on the site for you to follow if required). 

Please log out when you have finished uploading your images and do not change any of the user settings. 

If you are unable to upload your images to the site, you can forward a small selection of your best images to fundraising@childliverdisease.org and we can upload them for you*.  We will do this as soon as possible but this may not be instant. Please make it clear on your email if you have happy for your images to be used on CLDF's website, in Delivery, and on Photobucket.com

We hope lots of you will use this faciltiy and it may encourage other supporters to enter the race in the future.
