Paediatric Liver Disease Study Day

In a joint venture, the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) and the Paediatric Liver Service, King’s College Hospital, London are presenting a study day providing an update on paediatric liver disease. The day is aimed at healthcare professionals and will be held on Wednesday 14 July 2003.

This study day has been updated in light of delegate’s comments and will include interactive workshop sessions in the afternoon. A full resource pack will be provided.

Key learning points to be covered on the day will be:

· The difference between and significance of physiological jaundice and jaundice caused by liver disease

· The disgnosis, referral, management, care (inclduing shared care) of the jaundiced infant and the older child within an acute and chronic setting.

· The effect of liver disease on the child and the family and the implication of this in their management

The study day is suitable for community paediatricians, general practitioner’s, midwives, health visitors, community paediatric teams, school nurses, shared care unit staff and those involved in antenatal screening for viral hepatitis.
