2005 October 2005 - Paediatric Liver Disease Study Day in Leeds

In a joint venture, Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) and the Paediatric Liver and GI Unit, St James’s University Hospital, Leeds, are presenting a study day on Wednesday 23rd November 2005, providing an update on paediatric liver disease. 

The study day aims to provide a sound overview of paediatric liver disease and how it relates to the particular delegate’s work setting.  It is aimed at healthcare professionals including community paediatricians, general practitioner’s, midwives, health visitors, community paediatric teams, school nurses, shared care unit staff and those involved in antenatal screening for viral hepatitis.

Key learning points to be covered on the day will be:

• The difference between and significance of physiological jaundice and jaundice caused by liver disease
• The diagnosis, referral, management, care (including shared care) of the jaundiced infant and the older child within and acute and chronic setting
• The effect of liver disease on the child and the family and the implications of this in their management

The study day will take place in The Thackray Museum, St James’s University Hospital, Leeds between 9.00am and 4.30pm approx.  The cost is £40 per delegate including refreshments, lunch and a full resource pack.
