2005 November 9 - Paediatric Liver Disease Study day in London

In a joint venture, Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) and the Paediatric Liver Unit at Kings College Hospital, London, are presenting a study day on Tuesday 7th February 2006, providing an update on paediatric liver disease.

The study day aims to provide a sound overview of paediatric liver disease and how it relates to the particular delegate’s work setting.  It is aimed at healthcare professionals including community paediatricians, general practitioner’s, midwives, health visitors, community paediatric teams, school nurses, shared care unit staff and those involved in antenatal screening for viral hepatitis.

Key learning points to be covered on the day will be:

• The difference between and significance of physiological jaundice and jaundice caused by liver disease
• The diagnosis, referral, management, care (including shared care) of the jaundiced infant and the older child within and acute and chronic setting
• The effect of liver disease on the child and the family and the implications of this in their management

Delegates can also choose their preferred afternoon workshops, with specialist sessions available including biliary atresia, hepatitis A, B and C, liver transplantation, and psycho-social effects for the child and family of liver disease.

The study day will take place in the Weston Education Centre, King’s College Hospital, London between 9.00am and 4.15pm approx.  The cost is £40 per delegate including refreshments, lunch and a full resource pack.

To book a place on the study day or for further information please contact CLDF on 0121 212 3839.
