An introduction to 'Supporting Families' tab | Medic Alert
Medic Alert
Medic Alert is an internationally recognised medical identification system. A bracelet or neck chain is engraved with the individual's medical condition, personal identification number and Medic Alert's 24-hour emergency number. When needed, doctors or other medical professional can immediately obtain vital medical information on the person wearing the item, normally by telephone, from anywhere in the world. Further information, stored on computer, can also be relayed.
Through project fundraising for this cause, the Foundation has bought into this service by providing the first year of the registration fee for the young person. The Foundation pays for the stainless steel range of items or kids sports bands as well as the first year's registration fee*. Once the Medic Alert identification tag is delivered, the responsibility for the item passes to the family. After 12 months, the family will be asked by Medic Alert to pay a renewal fee (currently approximately £20.00 for the year). We know this is an important service. It provides peace of mind for the parents and freedom for the young people. If you would like to obtain further information about this service contact the support team.
* Please note that CLDF is only able to offer this service to families in the UK
