An introduction to 'Supporting Families' tab | Prescription Charges
Prescription Charges
We understand that paying for prescription charges is a concern for families. It may be the case that your child is entitled to free prescriptions. If you or your child is not eligible to get free prescriptions you might benefit from a pre-payment certificate. If you have to pay for more than 4 prescription items in 3 months or 14 items in 12 months then you may find it cheaper to buy a pre-payment certificate (PPC). A PPC costs £98.70 for twelve months and can now be purchased by direct debit over 10 months which equates to £9.87 per month. For more information visit: www.ppa.org.uk/ppa/ppc_intro.htm or phone: 0845 850 0030 For up-to-date information please contact CLDF's family support team or see the Department of Health.
