Actress, Claire Sweeney, has been a patron of Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) since 2015.
Many will also know Claire from her roles as Lindsay Corkhill in Brookside, the fiery Katrina in the award-winning drama, Clocking Off, and Amanda in comedy drama, Candy Cabs.
Her first love, however, is musical theatre and over the past two years she has toured the UK, taking starring roles in Hairspray and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
“As the mum of a little boy who is fit and well I can only imagine what it is like to cope with a child who has a rare disease, particularly when you know there is no cure,” said Claire.
“CLDF does amazing work, not only providing those families who need it with information and emotional support, but also funding research into causes and possible treatments for childhood liver disease,” she continued. “It’s a fantastic cause and I’m delighted to support them.”
