CLDF visited Hertfordshire on Saturday 4th February for a family event at Bedwell Community Centre in Stevenage. Families from across the region joined us to take part in the fun science workshop and meet others with experience of childhood liver disease.
Children and adults alike enjoyed the science experiments run by Fizz Pop Science, which included making gooey slime and fizzy sherbet. We discovered what happens when a hydrogen balloon is held over a flame (there’s a loud bang!) and how a chemical reaction can make ‘elephant toothpaste’.
It was fantastic to be joined by some families for their first ever CLDF event, as well as some more familiar faces. Mum Laura told us, “We loved the day, excellent organisation as always and lovely to chat face to face with some of the wonderful CLDF team. A fun filled day thanks to CLDF, always a joy to meet with other families on the same journey as yours and to see older children doing so well.”
Thank you to our volunteers for helping the day go so smoothly and to everyone who took part in the raffle, which raised over £50!
