Thank you to all the families who joined us at our recent Northern Ireland family weekend, from Saturday 11th to Sunday 12th March. We had a fantastic weekend of fun activities, good food, and great conversation, hosted by Todd’s Leap Activity Centre.
After introductions for new families, and a chance to say hello again to those we already knew, it was straight out to the activities. Those brave enough took on an enormous zip wire, running high above the forest. The advice given before we were launched over the valley? “Don’t look down!”
It was a long way down ziplining over the valley!
Keeping their feet on the ground, other groups gave Robin Hood a run for his money in an archery competition and tried to be the last man standing in total wipeout. Body zorbing was a bundle of laughs… especially for those watching!
It was hard to stay upright in the zorbs
Back in the activity centre less extreme comforts were available, including a bouncy castle, face painting and balloon modelling with Silly Hilly for the little ones.
There was something for all ages at Todd's Leap
Families congregated for an evening meal, where they had the chance to share experiences and build new friendships with other families. We finished off the evening dancing away to a disco!
On the Sunday morning we went off-road for a treasure hunt around Todd’s Leap. By lunchtime it was time for CLDF staff to depart, but with the knowledge that everyone had had a fantastic weekend.
One family told us: “Thank you so much for a very enjoyable weekend. Food, accommodation, activities, support excellent. We will be back!”
A big thank you to the staff from Todd’s Leap, who were very helpful and great fun. Above all, thanks to all the families who attended for making the journey, joining in the conversations, and being great company. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
